Our Roots
Spending time outside has a multitude of benefits. It aids our health, both mental and physical, and provides unique opportunities for learning and discovery. However, with the busy demands of daily life it can be difficult to feel connected to our green spaces.
Roots Outdoor Adventures began in 2022 with a passion for connecting people to everyday nature. We pride ourselves on creating opportunities for people to connect to their local green spaces and with one another. Our aim is to provide meaningful experiences in which communities can discover the nature on their doorstop, learn new skills and enjoy playing like a child (no matter your age!).
We adopt a Forest School approach to our provision, creating a learner-led journey. We are curious to new knowledge and embrace the wonders of all seasons. We value and celebrate individuality, both in nature and within our communities.
We are based in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Our activities include walks, crafts and skill-based workshops. As part of our programme, we are proud to collaborate with local organisations to deliver tailored activities.

About Me

Hi, I'm Alice, forest school leader and general nature-enthusiast!
Being outside is one of my favourite things. Whether it was a family excursion or disappearing into the garden, I spent a lot of my childhood outdoors and, as an adult, it continues to play an important role in my life.
Over the years I have worked with a range of ages in preschools, schools, youth centres and community settings. I am passionate about creating safe and accessible spaces for all.
